We spent a warm winter day walking through the prairie. I was beautiful!

I love visiting this place regularly, good place to go and think. It's full of some of the most beautiful scenery for a preserve close to town :) sometimes I bring my cat for walks, and she loves it too. I always see some sort of creature I wouldn't normally see, like deer and foxes. Nice place for reading

This place has become my favorite little hiding spot. The times I have gone it has been empty and it genuinely is so well taken care of. The ‘enjoy the view’ bench is my favorite. I have sat there eating my lunch and truly enjoying my view. The lookout post is also so well positioned, it is a bit of a walk from the parking lot but the view you get is just beautiful especially when the corn is still growing. There is just so much to explore here I am sure I still have much to see but it truly takes you away from the rest of the world when you are there.

Afton is a great place to birdwatch, run, bike, or walk/hike. There are benches set up around the park and a lookout point at the north end of the park. Afton is generally pretty quiet and a great place to walk your dog. Afton no longer allows dogs to be off-leash at any time of the year so please respect that rule.

One of our favorite places in the area, we go walking there all year. Even in Winter it is a beautiful place! And yes, there are bugs, and yes, there is a pig farm near by. That's part of living in the country. The South part is less visited, but one of the best places to see the sunset in the area, imo.
