As of Nov 2025, the park and trail are open! Plenty of parking in a large lot. Not a lot of amenities at the trailhead: shaded picnic tables, a trash can, and a poop bag dispenser. There is no access to the river - a warning you should take seriously, as it is downstream from the dam, with unpredictable water levels - but you can see and hear it from the trail. The trail itself is a fairly easy fire road with limited shade, would not recommend it for the summer.

Easy hike and easy parking. I noticed there are many spots of landslides; one area the entire trail was covered with enormous rocks and debris, as if a small mountain 🏔️ fell down from right side of the mountain. One of the pictures shows the new trail digging out on top of the landslide. So don’t recommend to go to this hike when it rains. Other than that, a good short hike. I did not go past the lake coz it started going downhill with big rocks, not safe for me and my 🐕. Enjoy it.

I visited Azusa Wilderness Park recently and it’s such a nice little escape into nature without going too far from the city. The trails are peaceful and not too hard, perfect for a casual walk or a light hike. I spotted a few birds and even saw a deer in the distance, which was really cool. The views of the mountains make it a relaxing spot to just sit and enjoy the outdoors. It’s not a huge park, but that’s part of the charm — simple, quiet, and a great place to unwind for a few hours.

I wish people would respect nature. If you go to the populated areas, the rivers will be polluted with trash due to the people not picking up after themselves. On the other hand, the place is beautiful the less people are present are in an area. There’s a lot to uncover the further you go as isolated areas are inhabited by fishes, animals, insects, even fungus and mushrooms. If it weren’t for the rude families that do not pick after themselves, this place would be beautiful.
