Visited Balboa Park in San Diego and absolutely loved it. The park is huge and beautifully maintained, with plenty of walking paths, gardens, and open spaces to explore. One highlight was the botanical building and the lush gardens inside, which were full of interesting and colorful plants. The Spanish-style architecture throughout the park is stunning and gives it a unique, charming atmosphere. There are so many cultural buildings, museums, and picturesque spots that it feels like a mini city dedicated to art, history, and nature. Overall, Balboa Park is perfect for a leisurely day of sightseeing, photography, and enjoying the outdoors. It’s a true gem of San Diego that I would definitely visit again.

Things have changed a little over time — I think they’re charging for parking now, though when I went, parking was free. I believe they’re working on removing the parking meters entirely, which would be great. Balboa Park itself is absolutely lovely. It’s a really nice place for a walk, with beautiful greenery and historic charm. A few downsides: there are quite a few homeless people, and unfortunately, some graffiti is appearing on one of the oldest and most stunning trees in the park. The roots are massive, and it’s sad to see them scratched into. Not sure how they could prevent it, but it’s definitely noticeable. On the bright side, the park has free organ concerts, usually on Sundays (around 1 or 2 p.m.), which are a really enjoyable experience. There are often events happening in the park, and the Japanese Friendship Garden is a tranquil highlight — peaceful, beautiful, and worth a visit. If you like museums, it will blow your mind — there are so many to explore throughout the park. Overall, it’s a great spot if you enjoy nature, walking, and exploring new areas. Def a relaxing park to spend a few hours.

We had an amazing time at Balboa Park! It’s such a beautiful place to visit, with so much to see and do. My daughter had so much fun exploring and enjoying the day. The park is clean, relaxing, and perfect for spending time with family. We definitely loved our visit and can’t wait to come back! 🌳😊

Absolutely beautiful and so much to do. Balboa Park is full of incredible museums, gardens, and stunning architecture. I went by myself and had a great time just exploring at my own pace. I visited the Timken Art Museum, the Botanical Building, and spent time walking through the gardens and admiring the historic buildings. Sitting by the fountain was such a peaceful moment. It’s the perfect place to wander, relax, and take everything in—whether you’re solo or with others. Highly recommend if you’re visiting San Diego.

Oh my, must visit if you are in San Diego. We didnt have too much time, but we did go at night and the lights, the vibe, everything was perfect. Every little corner has so much history, so much intricacy. We had dinner at a beautiful restaurant, under the stars! Be prepare to walk, but you can park the car near to different spots and it would be easier. (We had a long day at the zoo, so we couldn't cover the museums). We will be back during the day to explore all the museums!!
