My only experience with Balduck Park is the winter sledding hill, which is a blast. From the very wide size that easily allows everyone to sled with little to no wait, to the other families there that have been consistently chill over the years, this has been our go-to sledding hill. Often, we have found that some pretty rad people even donate sleds, and there are usually a couple around to borrow. Parking can be in the rec center parking lot or on Canyon St.

When I competed as a cross country runner in Detroit Public Schools during my high school days, we competed at Balduck Park. Running up that giant hill was so awesome to me ❤️. It took great strength and skill to conquer this hill through all types of weather. I went back today to see the place where I competed almost 40 years ago. Balduck Park brought back so many wonderful memories. The park looks wonderful! Although it's been reconstructed, my hill is still here. 😊 One can no longer see the paths that were trenched along the sides of the hill from the many footprints that ran up and down it. Encompassing the hill now is a beautiful flow of green grass. Benches are placed at the top of the hill to sit and see a beautiful view. I went back today in remembrance of that great hill. I was elated to see that with all the changes that were made to the park my hill was still there. So many changes has taken place with Detroit Public Schools since I graduated in 1988. EVERY SCHOOL that I attended is no longer; they are all demolished. To be able to come back to this place, filled my heart with great happiness, to see my hill is still here. Thank you to whomever decided not to demolish the hill. I have some type of history that I can now show my grandchildren. Today is an awesome day. My hill is an awesome hill ❤️. My eyes are feeling tears to know that all of my history is not gone.

Great time here with a bunch of kids! Only issue was there was some kind of weird chemical or whatever on the grass... after we all rolled down the hill and played in the grass, our skin was MAD ITCHY. Had to wash it off our legs; who knows what it was!?! Fertilizer?! Weed spray? No clue.

The only park I know that keeps the grass cut before it can even grow. I wonder is this park so well maintained because its on the border of Grosse Pointe? I don't see other parks in Detroit this immaculate.
