It was sad to see the ASA football fields to away BUT the return on this investment was 100 FOLD! When the dog park at The Village of Allen closed down to build Specs, Ulta and 5 Below, it was very depressing since we didn’t have any other dog parks in Allen, except a few “residents only”parks. Then- came along our BARK YARD. Allen did what Allen does best and created a beautiful, well maintained place for Dogs and their Owners to run freely, mingle and relax. There are 3 areas for your dog(s), small, large and one extra, restrooms, benches, sculptures, trees (in infancy), lush green grass and a little baby hill that creates a “venue” type feel. Most people pick up after their pets and if it is overlooked, the City does a great job each Wednesday of cleaning the yard, restrooms, parking lot and surrounding areas. So note- the park is CLOSED each WEDNESDAY. Since the trees are newly rooted, there is limited shade. But don’t worry! There are a few seated areas that have shade available. In a few more years, the tress will offer ample shade throughout the park. Swing by and enjoy this AWESOME dog park in Allen, TX.

I’ve been to many dog parks, including Plano, Mckinney, Richardson and Dallas. Very well taken care of. Nice sculptures throughout. And trees. The bark yard has a good following. Many regulars, several of whom live further away go near daily. Great place to let your dogs run around. Very safe for them as well. When O mention” DP” in the morning for dog park, my dog goes nuts. My dogs love going there!

I just realized I live pretty close to this dog park. I was out driving around one day and drove right past it. I took my dog over today when I got off work. It was about 4pm and there was only 1 other dog there but they were just leaving. This has to be the biggest, nicest, newest dog park I've ever been to!! WOW! I was super impressed. There are separate yards for larger dogs and smaller dogs and large entry areas between the gates where you enter each yard. There is a water fountain for people and dogs. There is a restroom and there are several benches throughout. The entire area is all grass and very well maintained. There are several trees but it's all new so they don't offer much shade yet. There are a couple of covered areas but it was very hot today (100+) so it was hard to escape the heat. I have nothing negative to say. I'm so glad I made it over there. I will be back again and again! I live in an apartment and I take my dog outside many times a day. We go on walks regularly but he never gets a chance to be off his leash and run wild. He absolutely loved it!

The park is beautiful, clean, and well taken care of. Bathrooms are also very clean. Water fountains and puppy trash bags are provided. The park has 3 sections, 2 for dogs under 30 lbs and 1 for dogs over 30 lbs. Only one of the 30 lbs and under sections is open at a time. There are picnic tables and bathrooms outside the gate, before coming into the parks sections. Recently they extended the hours to accommodate for summer, which was great! For the "negatives": There's one very small section where there's a tiny bit of shade near the back, where common gate with the larger dog park is, but generally it's very open and not shaded. It would be nice to have some more shaded areas, especially for the upcoming 100+ degree weather (since this will be the first summer since this park has been open). The other "negative" is the parking on the nice summer nights. There's not enough space for everyone as it gets PACKED! Everyone loves it! I love this park and love bringing my dog here 4-5 times a week over the last 3-4 months. The people who go are also very kind and we've built a sense of community. Great addition to the community.

Bark Yard was such a clean, welcoming space for our pups to run, play, and enjoy their day! We loved the wide-open areas that gave them plenty of room to explore and burn off energy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe and fun spot where your fur babies can truly thrive!
