I can’t say enough good things about Barklyn Heights! Ever since the first time bringing our Kai to Barklyn for daycare, we’ve single one of the staff have been so sweet and friendly and wonderful! We went on vacation and boarded him for the first time and they were so patient with all of my questions and answered right away when I texted checking in on him, it made me feel so much better! I know my Kai is definitely a handful but somehow it is obvious they all still love my goofball. They truly are such a great place to take your fur babies to have them be taken care of, I am so grateful for each and every amazing person that works there (and shout to you Amanda for always being so great with him with grooming :) Daycare has been an absolute LIFESAVER for us with our very high energy guy!
Absolutely love Barklyn Heights — hands down the best doggy daycare in Cleveland! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs. The staff treats every pup like their own, and it shows in the way my dog runs in every morning with pure excitement. The facility is spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed to give dogs the best experience possible. There’s plenty of space for them to play, rest, and socialize safely. I really appreciate the indoor and outdoor play areas and how attentive the staff is to matching dogs based on personality and energy level. My dog comes home happy, tired, and better behaved thanks to the socialization and stimulation at Barklyn Heights. The team also does a great job updating me with photos and reports — it’s such a relief knowing my fur baby is in good hands. Their attention to detail and commitment to safety is truly unmatched. They even helped my dog adjust during his first few visits, being patient and kind until he was fully comfortable. The special events, themed playdays, and birthday celebrations are such a cute and thoughtful touch. Every time I pick him up, he's wagging his tail and looks like he just had the best day ever. It’s such a weight off my shoulders to have a place I can trust completely. Barklyn Heights goes above and beyond every single day. If you’re looking for a daycare that treats your dog like family, look no further. I wouldn’t take my pup anywhere else!
The Barklyn Heights Team absolutely makes this place! We have been taking our dogs here over the years and have seen the same familiar faces most years. They do have a lot of rules, but we understand why. The new app has some issues, but the people here that take care of our pups are the reason we keep coming back!
I began taking my newly rescued 7-month-old lab/boxer mix to Barklyn Heights in mid-October. He’d already been socialized at the shelter and did well there. His evaluation day at Barklyn Heights also went well, and I purchased a 10-day package. For the first several visits, everything seemed fine. On his 6th visit, I picked him up soaked and smelling strongly of chemicals. When I asked about it, Darla at the front desk said they were cleaning with Wysiwash sanitizer and that it was “nontoxic.” Once home, I researched it and learned that extended contact can irritate skin and eyes and that dogs should be removed from the area until surfaces are dry. I decided to be understanding and moved on. Over the next few visits, staff continued to say he was doing great. But on his 10th visit, Darla told me he was being put on a 30-day probation for “running across the room aggressively toward a small dog” and not responding to recall. I apologized, explained that we were working on recall at home, and we continued practicing. The following week, I checked the daycare cameras and didn’t see him with the other dogs. When I called, I was told he was in “time out” for aggression and was locked alone in a room for 30 minutes to “collect himself.” However, he was kept separate for over an hour. The next day the same thing happened. When I asked another staff member why, she read a message from Darla giving the same explanation. I began watching the cameras more closely and noticed a pattern: these issues only occurred under Darla’s supervision. Other staff members were active—walking around, interacting with dogs, and monitoring the room. Darla, on the other hand, was often sitting for long periods with her feet propped up. In my view, this is not adequate supervision for a room of 20+ dogs and seems to be leading to unfair punishments, including isolating my dog for exaggerated or inaccurate reasons. After these incidents, I’ve decided not to return to Barklyn Heights. I hope sharing this experience helps others make an informed choice about where to take their pets.
My dog Leo loves Barklyn! We have been going here since he was a pup, nine years ago! He gets excited when we drive down the steeet because he knows he is going to his fun place! He does overnight stays and is treated and loved so I don’t have to worry when I travel
