We have been members at Barx Parx for about 2 years, and we have used their doggie daycare, boarding, grooming, and training services for our bernedoodle-sheepadoodle mix. We have been pleased with all of the services, and our dog absolutely loves going here. Doggie Daycare: Our dog went to daycare 5 days per week while we were working, and he absolutely loved it. We have since moved into a house with a yard, so he doesn’t go as frequently and we can tell he misses his human and dog friends. We still take him occasionally, and everyone is as excited to see him as he is to see them. The Parx rangers are all wonderful and loving. They are very well trained to spot when a dog’s behavior changes and may need a “time out” from the main area in the corral. They keep all areas as clean as possible as soon as they notice a dog has peed/pooped. I also love when they do special events like paw print artwork for various holidays, posed pictures (extra charge), and various types of stimulation (bubbles, “Olympics,” etc). Boarding: It is a huge relief when he’s boarded here while traveling because we know he’s well taken care of, and we can check the cameras to see him happily playing or napping. We also love the upgrades to a bedtime story and treat every night, plus an outdoor walk every day. Grooming: We used to groom our bernedoodle at home, but it would takes hours over the course of a week or more. Nicole does a wonderful job, listens to our requests, and listens to our dog when he may not like something (blow dryer). Over the first two or three grooming sessions, Nicole had our dog as comfortable as possible with the entire grooming process. We take our dog about 1x per month to see Nicole. Training: We attended the first round of training at Barx Parx with Stephy when our dog was closer to a year old. It was a very hands-on process where my husband and I each took turns with each skill. He learned to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and walk next to me on and off a leash on command. We recently welcomed a baby, and we had Stephy come for a home visit to train us on how to make the process of bringing a newborn home an easy and safe transition for all involved. I highly recommend this because our dog absolutely LOVES our baby, and I believe this was so easy because of the training my husband and I received.
We love Barx Parx! They truly care about the dogs, giving them kisses and hugs, playing w them. They do fun things like pictures w themes (Patriotic, Summer fun). Coco gets really excited when I tell her she's going to "school" for the day and doesn't want to leave when we pick her up from daycare. The other thing I love is that the park rangers watch while they play and will intervene if play is too rough etc. We have boarded Coco overnight in preparation for us going on a long weekend trip and she loved it! She was so worn out from playing with her friends that she slept the entire next day! The boarding is wonderful because there is a park ranger there overnight and unless you want your dog in a kennel, the dogs all sleep together. Instead of her being at home w a dog sitter she doesn't really know with no one to play with, this option is fantastic! Don't let your pup miss out, check them out for yourself!
We have been members for one week, so far so good. We joined to socialize our recently adopted 8 month old puppy, Scout. She is doing a lot better since coming to the play time with other dogs. Their hours are great and the employees, Park Rangers, are really good and patient with all the dogs (and the people.) Barx Park is a well thought out operation and we're looking forward to using the daycare and overnight boarding in the next couple months.
After adopting Baxter, I immediately thought about the different daycares I could take him to and all of my friends brought up Barx Parx. Taking him to Barx Parx was the best decision. He LOVES going and playing with the park rangers and all of his friends. Since I started with Barx Parx, I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with every worker. They take the best care of meeting his needs and are extremely communicative with my partner and I about how he’s doing, scheduling daycare, boarding, and grooming. Thank you to everyone at Barx Parx for taking great care of Baxter. When we go on walks now, he walks me straight to my car because he keeps wanting to go back. :) I can’t wait to see how he continues to grow with my partner and I as well as with all of you!
I don't review a lot but the crew of Barx Parx take such good care of my girl, I just have to give them kudos. She has human and four legged friends and really looks forward to her time there. I like that all the dogs have been tested for compatibility, as I've taken her to random dog parks where some dogs can be aggressive. There's always enough staff members and the number of dogs in any particular area is limited by the staff's ability to watch them. A+ all the way around. I started as a basic member but she enjoys her time there and it's good for her to have time to be a dog, so I upgraded for the discount on visits. It's worth it. Oh, and the last picture shows that we do spring for the peanut butter treat so it's another thing to look forward to a couple times a week.
