Love this park. Gets icy in the winter, so be careful, but it's a lovely little spot where my dogs love to play. The ice does make for a bit of entertainment, I get to watch my 2 year old Great Pyrenees show off her ice games moves.

The newer (a few years old now) dog park is fantastic. Feels like walking on a trail though the woods. Its a short loop, easy to keep track of the dog. Lots to places for him to explore and run. He's a big fan.

One of my favorite dog parks in the twin cities! It was recently updated and so much better than it was. Trails for people (and dogs) to walk, wooded area, flat land (with a few small inclines) which makes it perfect for a nice relaxing walk. Kind of hard to know it’s there if you don’t know about it. The parking lot behind the Bassett Creek Park sign leads into the dog park. Walk past the “do not enter” sign and you’ll see the main entrance. There are two parks, one for bigger/social dogs, and one for small, less social dogs. For the big dog park, there are two entrances. The main (if you are facing the dog park in the parking lot, walk towards the right), and another one that is more secluded (if you park facing the dog park, walk left towards the trail and you’ll see the secluded entrance.) Amenities: running water with dog bowls, handicap port-a-potty (by the parking lot), benches in open and more secluded spots around the park, doggy poop bags, and surrounded by beautiful mature trees that overlook a nearby pond/stream. Wear bug spray!!!

Horrible experience. I’ve been to many dog parks, but this was by far the worst. Not because of the park itself, but because of the people and their dogs. My German Shepherd mix was attacked by multiple large dogs at once, (including a mastiff), while the owners stood by and did nothing. There were dogs of all sizes there, but it was clear to me that these larger dogs come to this park regularly and were very territorial. If your dog is timid or submissive, do not bring them here. I left feeling awful for putting my dog in such a dangerous situation. Dog owners: do better!

Beautiful dog park connected to a number of walking/biking trails. One area is for smaller, more timid dogs and the other bigger area is for the more adventurous ones. Both sides are really nice. Free to use and they even have poop bags in case you forgot to bring em!
