Beck Lake is a beautiful lake located along the Des Plaines River Trail. There is an island in the Lake. However, public access to the island is denied, as it is a protected wildlife area. I visited Beck Lake today because the weather was abnormally high for the month of March. It is very popular for fishing, picnics, walking, and biking. (Equestrians are also allowed). The lake freezes in the winter months of December, January, and February.

Beck Lake is a hidden gem for fishing and outdoor relaxation! The lake offers great shoreline access, perfect for catching bass, bluegill, and pike. The surrounding trails are peaceful, and the off-leash dog area is a fantastic bonus. Perfect spot to unwind and cast a line!

Never fished the Lake, but see a decent number of fishermen who seem to be successful. Also has a dog park with lake for Cook County residents. The Lake trail system connects to the Des Plaines River Trail. From the parking lot on can run to Allison Forest Preserve (about 3 miles) with no need to cross a street!

Beautiful Lake along the Des Plaines River Trail. There's plenty of parking and the area is very clean.
