Rarely crowded, generally a good group playful dogs and attentive dog owners. The terrain is pretty rocky and it can be tough on puppy feet, so keep an eye out for that, but tons of parking and a nice quiet hillside make this a good little park.

Fun place to bring the dogs. It’s big enough for them to run compared to the West Hollywood dog park on San Vicente. Every dog owner is friendly. Mostly everyone picks up after their dog. They have water bowls but I’d bring your own because of biofilm. It’s all dirt, so I’d suggest close toed sneakers/boots and a face mask if you have trouble breathing. Our dogs are about 5 years old and we adopted them a year ago from shelters. Boneyard is a great place to socialize them since there’s enough space for them to roam and choose to interact with other dogs. Plus there’s cars passing, so it’s a great place to acclimate dogs. No nearby restrooms. There is a free parking lot that fits about 20 cars, then the rest are metered along the street

All gravel, no grass, water is minimal. So is shade. A dog park built to minimize maintenance as well as quality of experience. Disappointing!

Took our two little dogs to this park on two separate Saturdays. Both times the same group of people are throwing shredded chicken and various other food in the small dog park for the dogs. One of our dogs suffers from a disease that makes him constantly hungry and overweight. We are trying very hard to keep his mind off of eating and get him some exercise. You'd think bringing him to a dog park would satisfy these needs, but these people throwing food non-stop is achieving the opposite effect and ruining our experience. Instead of running around and playing, the dogs just sit and hover around the food-throwing group. I can't imagine we're the only ones whose dog has dietary restrictions. Why can't you feed your dog at home?! Such entitled, selfish behavior.

I recently started taking my puppy to Bone Dog Park in Culver City, and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots. The park, while being primarily dirt with no grass, offers an excellent environment for dogs to run around, play, and socialize with others. Despite its lack of grass, which does result in my dog getting quite dirty, the benefits of this park far outweigh the minor inconvenience of a necessary bath afterward.
Atmosphere and Environment:
Bone Dog Park provides a spacious area for dogs to play freely and interact with one another. The open space is ideal for dogs who need to burn off energy and enjoy some off-leash time. The lack of grass does mean that it can get a bit dusty, especially during dry weather, but the park's overall atmosphere is lively and welcoming. The dirt doesn't seem to bother the dogs at all; in fact, they seem to love it, as evidenced by my puppy's enthusiasm every time we visit.
Socialization and Exercise:
One of the standout features of Bone Dog Park is the opportunity for dogs to socialize. My puppy loves to play and run around with the other dogs, and it’s clear that she thoroughly enjoys her time here. The social interaction with other dogs is fantastic for her development, and she often makes new friends each visit. The exercise she gets from running around the park is also invaluable. She comes home tired and happy, which is a huge plus. Most of the time, she falls asleep as soon as we get back because she's so worn out from all the fun.
Maintenance and Cleanliness:
While the park is primarily dirt, it is well-maintained. Regular visitors seem to be diligent about cleaning up after their pets, which helps keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone. The park's layout is straightforward, making it easy to keep an eye on your dog even when they’re off exploring. It's worth noting that, because of the dirt, dogs can get quite dirty, but that's a small price to pay for the enjoyment and exercise they receive.
Community and Safety:
The community of dog owners who frequent Bone Dog Park is friendly and responsible. It’s great to see so many people who are attentive to their pets and ensure a safe and fun environment for all dogs. There is a sense of camaraderie among the park's regulars, and it's a wonderful place to meet fellow dog lovers. The park's fencing is secure, providing peace of mind that dogs can play safely off-leash without the risk of running off.
Overall Experience:
In conclusion, Bone Dog Park in Culver City is a fantastic spot for dog owners looking to give their pets a place to exercise, socialize, and have a great time. While the park's dirt surface means a bit of extra cleanup at home, the joy and tired satisfaction my puppy experiences after a visit make it more than worth it. If you’re in the Culver City area and looking for a dog park that offers plenty of space and a friendly community, Bone Dog Park is definitely worth a visit.
