Recently attended a field trip at Barkhausen. Logan and Jason lead the way foe our classes and did a fantastic job! They were trying to explain the process of maple syrup to 2 classes of kindergarteners and what patients and characters they were. Great job guys, thank you! The trails were also beautiful and the facility was a nice activity for the kids to warm up in-between hikes.

Nice place to visit. it is not crowded. it is quiet and it is a nice place to just sit and relax there is not a lot to do but that's fine. But the education center is jampacked with birds (mounted), displays and information. Oddly enough I came here the end of September, and there was not a single bird in sight. However, across the river at Bay Beach wildlife sanctuary there are 1000s of ducks and even some turkeys.

Wonderful nature center, preserve, and sensory walk. Educational and fun. My son brought a net and caught some tadpoles. He compared the stages before putting them back in the pond.

This was my first time here, and my girlfriend and I saw dozens of painted turtles, many of them out on a fallen tree in the water! The hiking trails we did were great as well!
