Amazing! Depending on the time of day you may see the Elk up close! They like to rest in the far back area!* I’m addition they have a trail system for walking/bike riding!

We stopped by the Busse Forest Elk Pasture on Christmas day and were able to see two of the Elk relatively close up as well as another one or two off in the distance. They grazed and even ran around a bit before heading off into the distance to join the others. Seeing them that day felt like a Christmas gift. We'll likely be stopping by again.

Big beautiful park area with a 7.7 mile loop for a long walk this weekend. The trail was nice with great views of water and forest. Started and ended at the Elk trail head and the walk took about 3.5 hours. Wish there were more side off trail trails to take and that the bathrooms were working but otherwise I definitely will go back. I think bringing my bike would be the best thing for this place but great for picnics too. Only one hour from Chicago where I live.

There are paved trails as well as unpaved trails. We took an unpaved trail. It's beautiful ❤️. We saw deer, Coyotes , and many birds. The Elk Pasture itself, is fenced off. We weren't lucky enough to see one. 😔
