This is a very nice park. It has paved trails for walking, lots of signage to identify specific plants and trees, a pavillion for moderately sized gatherings, a heart defribilator for emergencies, an area where kids can play in the river with a rope swing. It has a little library booth where kids can get books. It has a display where bees can live. That has a clear outer wall so you can see inside the hive. We were there in January when the leaves were off the trees buy can imagine how beautiful it would be to be here during warmer months. On top of everything else, there is a fenced dog park there as well. The main water fountain in the park has a built-in bowl at the base of the fountain for dog visitors. The only issue is that it has limited parking.

♿️ Some of this park is accessible to wheelchairs and those with mobility issues. It is paved in a loop and there is a little side nature trail that is not paved but easy enough to get around. A little bridge takes you to a little bench. There are 15 stone stairs with a handrail that I was able to get down to the water, but the last step is steep. Pulling myself up the stairs was much easier. The park is beautiful without going near the water and there is a little nook for picnics that is covered and a huge fenced in dog park. There is a water bottle refill spot/water fountain for people and pets here. I found quite a few Eagle projects for the Scouts and tried to get a few pics of those. It is shady and peaceful here. I'm a rock and tree lover and I found quite a few here. It's not a large park, you'll need to make a few laps for a mile. But, it is worth going just for the views for sure.

This was a nice, peaceful river park that encompassed a dog park, picnic tables, a 1/4 mile walking trail, and river access. There are also trash cans placed all around the park that makes it easy to dispose of your trash after a picnic. While there is river front, the portion that we went to isn’t the MOST accessible for small children. The portion that we explored was below the dog park. If you walk down the stairs to the river and then turn left and walk towards the bridge, there was a section of rock where our toddler was able to walk around and dip her toes in the water. Be aware, parts of this area have sudden drop off into deeper water and there’s slick mud in some spots where kids or adults could slip if not careful. We did not walk the full 1/4 mile so there may be better shallow water access around the opposite side of the park. There were also no bathrooms on sight but there are gas stations and restaurants within 5 minutes.

Very Cool park, a little smaller than what I'm used to, but it's right next to a river with easy access and there's plenty to do if you want to wear your fuzz kids out. Plus there's a dog park there as well, super convenient and lots of parking. Met a few pet owners, super friendly and very responsible with their Fuzz Kids, ALL were on leashes. Thanks friends and thanks Cahaba River Park.

Pretty wooded park with great views and access to the Cahaba River. A paved but short looping trail. Has 2 swings, pull-up bars, and a dog park. Also has a pavilion and a memorial bench looking over the Cahaba. The swings are nice but it’s not a “playground”.
