This is a great community park and a great access point for the Elizabeth River Trail. If you want to get to the river access you will want a cart or need to hand carry your canoe or kayak. There is a locked gate at the entrance and really no of street parking. That being said this is still a great spot to launch from. There is a mostly paved trail in this park and a open grassy area under the power lines. The grassy are grows tall during the summer as evidenced by the hard cut made by the city. Tread lightly and be respectful of the neighborhood and you'll find this a wonderful park to visit. Light short hike, canoe/kayak access and open field to play in.
It's almost confusing when you arrive because there's no parking lot or turn in. You just pull up alongside the curb. There is a locked gate at the entrance. The initial trail into the park is paved, but it soon turns into an unpaved trail. They aren't that intricate or extensive, but still lots of fun. There are markers to help you identify where you are and stay on the 'main' trail. You can venture off trail but be careful of the thorns. The lake is pretty and you might catch a glimpse of some beautiful wildlife.
Decent little park. Has some short trails to walk. There is a kayak/canoe launch. No parking. Have to park in the neighborhood. That it's in.
Great park, but if you're planning on launching a kayak from here, prepare for a walk. You can't drive to the boat launch, and you'll have to carry your boat about 100 yards or so.
A really nice trail and facilities. Good for a 30 min dog walk.
