The Carolina North Forest is such a nice place to run/bike/hike/walk in one place. You can choose to walk/bike on the pave road, Or you can choose to hike on the trail. Or do everything on any way that you prefer. They are a lot of different trails. Nice huge forest in the middle of the town. You can access in many entrances, plenty of parking or access from public transportation.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Pumpkin Loop! Beautiful way to spend an hour or so.

This forested land is a testament to the value of conserving natural and open space in otherwise overpopulated areas. I sincerely wish for this space to remain protected and well cared for, in the hopes that future generations can enjoy it. Having nature and some open space nearby makes life much sweeter, and must be supported.

There are 3 entrances off Seawell School Rd. Park on the shoulder of the road. We took Entrance 3 near the school. Easy hike, main trails are gravel many loop trails not graveled. Good hike for dogs. The trails are not well marked and the map is not easy to follow. There is a stream and some bridges but mostly pine forest. There is also a foundation from an old mill.

It's a series of nice trails for a walk with your dog or a quick ride on a mountain bike but not for a serious hiker. It can't begin to compare to the beauty and breadth of Duke National Forest.
