"In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect." - Alice Walker (1944-) At nearly 40 acres, this is a large park with a lot of amenities and activities. There is a fenced off-leash dog park, tennis and volleyball courts, two playgrounds (one for 2-5 and one for 5-12) with sand surfaces that today were covered in fallen leaves. The park has a scenic walking trail that winds through the park. And then there is the Carolina Pines Community Center which was secured today but ordinarily has classes and other programs. This was a very pleasant stop on my exploration of Raleigh's parks. I enjoyed my time here and would return!

Volunteered here this past week for a Halloween event. Nice area with a playground, fields, tennis courts, and community center. It is surrounded by a lot trees so it is easy to miss the initial turn into the park if you are not familiar with the area. Staff were incredibly friendly to volunteers and the families who came for a fun night out with their children. The parking lot has plenty of space for families who wish to come on days when it may be busy.

The park is a little odd very spread out with older kid activities on the bottom while activities for younger kids is at the top. Its location surrounded by trees means it offers a lot of much needed shade during the summer. Just be wary with kids though because it is a bit out there in the woods/wild so the chances of snakes are a lot higher than other parks.

Pretty much whenever I go here a court is always open. The only thing that I don’t like they don’t have a walking path
