Was a good place to take our dogs! We been here now twice, we come in from the stl city. If had one issue it was no one is picking up after the pups as there was a lot of poop in the areas. Myself and husband went through and picked up to what we saw from what others left behind. Other then that, it's a good place to let your dogs run there lil energy out!

Love this park and so does my pup! It's a great place to walk. The ducks at the pond are so happy and sweet to watch! There's plenty of good walking paths throughout the park, benches, shade trees in the spring and summer. Or recent visit was in January after a heavy winter snow storm. The pond was partially frozen over and watching the ducks waddle over the ice was quiet amusing. It's lovely how happy all the birds seem with snow on the ground.

The neighborhood has such a lovely charm, especially the lakes, which are filled with ducks and other wildlife. The parks surrounding the lakes create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for strolls or simply unwinding in nature. I appreciated the well-maintained paths and green spaces that invite you to enjoy the outdoors. There are also nice spots for picnicking, making it a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Overall, Carondelet offers a beautiful setting to relax and connect with nature, and I found it to be a fantastic area to explore.

Park hours are shown as 6am-10pm yet it’s only 3:54 pm right now and the gates are closed. And not just these gates, all of them are.

A fantastic park in deep South City. In most towns this would be considered a primo park, but due to the other great urban parks in STL, Carondelet is an unfortunately third banana. Unless there is an event going on, this is the most tame of the big three. Very relaxing with a lot of space to spread out. Two fantastic lakes in this park. Boat Lake is your typical urban lake lined by a sidewalk with a beautiful boat house on the Eastern side. Horseshoe Lake is much more rustic with only a few paved paths along the rim. Paved trails run throughout, but there is also a ton of green ways you can stroll. Soccer and softball fields with a few playgrounds thrown in. The mansions on the north side of the park are worth a look.
