My beloved Cary Park... This park is very close to me, physically and sentimentally. It is in a neighborhood next to a school. It's not dangerous when I've come here. People always walk their dogs through here at all hours, always pretty well-behaved dogs. The kids and sometimes adults play baseball here, and all sorts of folks skateboard at the skate park area, or play hockey, or basketball. The vibes are very good. People play music while they play sports, but the benches are where I usually go. The benches in the back of the park (near the school) are very calm usually, aside from people occasionally playing volleyball or other small sports in the small grass area next to the benches. There is rarely any inconvenience here unless there's a huge baseball event or a birthday party happening. Even then, people are nice. Great vibes here. The playground is being rebuilt right now, but it so far looks lovely, with flowers, and the structures that are finished have children playing on them happily. I have only seen a child get hurt once over the years of going here. I used to go at least once every week, and these days I go almost every single day. I go here from 6-10pm, and 10 is when the lights all shut off. The restrooms tend to stay open at least until then. Occasionally, near the groundskeepers shed, I see a black bunny and a yellow cat. The cat actually comes by the benches at night. Its a lovely park. I've seen the rabbit near the school a few times. Many birds and squirrels, and many beautiful trees.. the place in the park closer to the mall has yellow flowering trees, and when they flower I see valley carpenter bees and small honeybees in the flowers. I see the bees on the clovers if I come to the park earlier, too. If you want to avoid bees, stick to the concrete or the baseball place... or the fir trees. They don't really hang out around them (I assume because of the lack of clovers)... If you're squeamish about folks napping under the trees during the day, or about occasionally someone asking if you have a lighter, or any of those other normal things, the park might not be for you, but also normal society might not be for you either. There are now TWO water fountains as well as concrete paths between the fenced sport areas and the playground and the baseball bleachers/water fountain. This makes it more accessible to wheelchair users! There are also numerous trash cans. The bathrooms are okay. A very... "manual" sink, and an air dryer instead of paper towels. I am impressed by how rarely the soap runs out. I hope this helps :) It is a lovely park. In middle school, Mr Lopez walked us here for P.E. (from the school thats on the other side of the mall, near here). Now that I'm an adult, this place has evolved a lot, and watching it do that has been wonderful. I would give it 6 stars if that was possible. Very well-maintained :) edit: moving to a different neighborhood! this park will always be special to me, but the times i said im there are now inaccurate ☀️

Needs work, some of the people that work here are not very friendly or handy with fixing things. Had baseball games and they had trouble turning on water, didn't know how it worked. Sooo dusty!!

The park itself is great! My boys play baseball there........ BUT the homeless is ridiculous, always there and yelling at people and talking to themselves high on something. Last game we saw a syringe hanging from a palm tree!! Other then that the park is clean and has a skate park and a play area for the kids, bbqs and baseball fields. Please clean up the homeless so our kids can play safe.

I signed my son to Cary’s baseball league because I heard great things about it. But truth be told it’s such favoritism it’s not fair. It’s my sons first time playing with them and they’re are 3 different teams for his age group his team is the ONLY team with first timers in it ONLY team with girls. The other two teams are kids who are more experienced who’ve played in the league before. They have no girls in the team. They have 3 coaches on it. My son’s team has 1 coach who’s trying her very best. I would NOT recommend this league unless your friends with whoever is in charge of placing the teams together. It’s no lottery they know exactly what they’re doing. It’s so unfair to not have mixed new timers with more experienced kids. 0/0
