I just need to vent for a minute. I took my 15-month-old Cane Corso to the local dog park today ,a park we’ve only been to maybe twice , and the “human pack” that was there was honestly the worst I’ve ever dealt with. The moment I walked through the gate, the first thing someone said was, “Is your dog friendly?” I told them, of course he is, I wouldn’t bring him to a dog park if he wasn’t. Me and Enzo went about our business, and a couple of other dogs came up to sniff him, just normal dog behavior. Then one of the mutts started getting aggressive with him. Enzo stood his ground, they separated, and that should’ve been the end of it. But I could already feel the human pack staring my dog down like he was the problem just because he’s a big breed. So we moved to the far end of the park. Enzo sees the other dogs running and naturally takes off to run with them. Everything was fine until that same aggressive dog comes trotting over again and starts pushing into his space for the second time. The owner walks over, apologizes, grabs his dog… and then immediately goes right back to the human cluster where they all start glaring at us like we caused the whole situation. And I kid you not ,they literally packed up their stuff and moved to the other park like my dog was some kind of threat. At that point, I was done. I walked over to the gate and told them straight up: my dog is not the problem. My dog is trained, well-behaved, and under control. Maybe look at the dog that started everything instead of blaming the big breed. I swear, some people shouldn’t be at dog parks if they don’t understand dog behavior. I only take Enzo every once in a while so he can really stretch his legs and get a good run in. Most parks have great dogs and great humans; but this particular one at Cesar Chavez in Laveen, AZ had the worst human pack I’ve ever had to deal with.

It needs better care in the bathrooms I like going to the park with my children, They could improve security at the entrance to the restrooms. provide more access to water for pets

Great dog park. They have started taking better care of their grass also. Bring dog bags and clean up after your dogs! There are trash cans to place your waste in.

2 big large areas for small and big dogs. It was my first time here taking the dogs. Overall, it was a great place for the dogs to run around. I've gone a couple more times. You'll need to have bags on hand since there are never bags or rake/dustpan to pick up after your dog. Not manny people are prepared and there is a lot of dog waste all over.

Very spacious. Has a picnic area for humans and dog water fountain. You have regulars that come here, everyone is very friendly and the dogs are for the most part well behaved. Uncivilized dogs are not welcomed.
