Fishing spot is dry right now only three feet deep they really did a good job revamping the park volley ball and tennis courts covered picnic benches ! The tennis courts need a lot of love and I feel like the kids need a basketball court there’s enough space to do it none uses the tennis courts unless it’s to roller skate

The fishing pier is nice. No complaints. Its plenty long enough and reaches far into the river. The issue is with the folks constantly crabbing which chases all the fish away by throwing a multitude of live chicken legs into the water. It makes it difficult to fish, especially with a younger son who can absolutely read the no crabbing signs. More enforcement needed on this front. The water is also super full of trash and pollutants.

I like this pier it's fair in length, but if you're going there to fish bring a chair,no benches. Also I will tell you that the bottom is very mucky its the Elizabeth River. If you're going to fish bring plenty of tackle. The pier is loaded with crab pots and nets that people just left or lost so your going to get a lot of snags due to the river muck, rocks and trash. Also God luck if you're looking for a place to Go you know. 1 Porta potty. Thanks for reading. Stan:

Good spot to take the kids but lately fishing and crabbing has been very slow to no action. But the pier is well maintained and there's port-a-potties near by.
