The dogs park is decently sized - Large enough to use one of those ball throwers, at least. There were a few agility type stations, which was nice. Water and doggie waste bags are provided, and balls were randomly strewn about, which was heaven for my dog. It appears that people that come here are excellent at picking up after their dog; I did not see one single land mine on the ground and didn't have to worry about that at all. Everyone I met was amicable, polite and attentive to their pets. A wonderful experience for both me and my dog!

Nice area and view, but for some reason the dog park has zero grass even tho all the surrounding areas have plants and trees. Is it really that hard for San Diego to make some off leash areas for dogs with grass ffs?

Truly a Hidden Gem in the heart of Mission Valley! Lots to do at the Park, Ping Pong tables, Chess Pieces, Splash Pad for the Kiddos, Playground Area, Dog Park, beautiful seating areas. Lots of Restrooms, very clean and well-maintained. Lots of pathways to enjoy a nice long walk. At the top of the park there's a beautiful pathway leading to Dog Park which displays an awesome, colorful Mural depicting famous Landmarks around San Diego.

This is a great city park it is absolutely huge and has everything that you would expect to find in a park available. From two different dog parks the sports fields to a small waterspout park for the little ones as well as couches and outdoor sitting area is a human-sized chest playing set as well as to cement ping pong tables as well as countless other things that I still haven't seen.

First, our dog is a medium sized 7 month Australian Shepherd and currently around 32lbs. Size-wise, she looks small for the big dog side of the park, but she learned to play with a German shepherd husky mix so we're always looking for parks that separate the large and small dogs because she really doesn't like being barked at (and let's face it... that's a lot of what small dogs do). This park is sand with some fixed agility course components on the large dog side of the park. The sand can have some holes from dogs digging, so watch where you step and be ready with a brush should your dog be a roller. It has 5 trees and some umbrellas for shade, but I image the sand getting hot on the warmer days. It also has a drinking fountain with dogbowl add-on, so you don't need to worry about bringing water. We visited on 6/23 from the Bay Area around 12:30pm and it was a ghost town, but overall nice park!
