While it's a commendable job from the Rochester city to come up with a dog park, the maintenance of the park is supposed to be by the dog parents. Except some responsible parents a lot of them seems to not care about the well being of other dogs and the park. Picking up after your dog is somthing which is expected, but, a lot of parents just do not do it. It's a shame that even after proving with poop bags and a trash bin a lot of parents just ignore the fact that it's a public space and needs proper care.

The park has been pretty great. We haven't had any issues and most dog owners are attentive and friendly. There are two spaces (large and small dog sides). The only thing I wish is that we each had our own card to get in (too many people give out the code to people whose dogs are not registered).

Great dog park. Has 2 sides. 1 for small and 1 for large. Most of the time the small dogs are in with the large dogs because they are all socialized well. MUST be registered and LICENSED with the City of Rochester to gain access thru security gates. FREE registration for park once licensed. City doesn't do much to maintain the property. Many times the garbage can for feces is full. Doggie poop bags provided. Summer months a water outlet is turned on and a couple water bowls are provided. Grass areas get quite a bit of traffic so it can become very muddy in the Spring and Fall. Parking is across the street. Usually many tennis balls to play with. NO TREATS allowed...No breaking off tree branches for dogs to chase or chew. A couple of benches for sitting provided. More info call 311 from within the city.

If you're from out of town and visiting don't bother. You need to be registered and have a code to get in with your dog. Very disappointed.
