Delray Beach did a good job reserving this as a green space and ensuring that this part of the city has good drainage and buffer to keep the neighborhood in good shape and limit sprawl. This is a large park but it's quite passive. There are no ballfields or playground here, just a nice walking trail and open space area. On this Saturday morning when I stopped by, there were some fellow friendly folks who were walking around the park with me. Nice! Leashed dogs are permitted and all that I encountered were also friendly. There is no specific parking, just pull onto the grass but be careful you don't sink in or damage it!

Cornell Park is a 3.35 acre passive park located north of Lake Ida Road and west of Swinton, at the corner of Northwest Ninth Street and Northwest Fourth Avenue in Delray Beach. It doesn't have a parking lot but you can just pull over on the side of the road. The park opened in the summer of 2006 and was created with the input of area residents. It has been kept in a natural state with pine trees and grasses. Residents were concerned about limiting traffic to the community. Instead of a playground, the park has a walking/exercise trail that runs through the park. Some of the path is paved and some of it is natural earth. Unlike the parks in Boca which ban all pets, this park is very dog friendly. They even include poo bags so you can pick up after your pooch. Along the trail are benches and there is a bike rack. I enjoyed walking around and while exercising I saw someone else walking their dog and another person riding their bike. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it is a peaceful and safe. The park is open 8 AM until dusk.

Very nice park in a great neighborhood. Was there for a Community Greening tree planting event. Looking forward to the shade along the paths these pines will provide in the future!

Horrible people were drunk Happy hour Fridays the lady said, dogs off leash my dog and girlfriend were bitten by unleashed dogs. The dog owners just stood there. Horrible place. Like let's get drunk and not be responsible dog owners. Smh Currently at Urgent Care.
