It has a lot of trails and you have to pay attention cause the trails are marked with colored symbols if you are not used the hike. A beginner can do this hike could also get easily lost if you are not directionally aware. The views were pretty the hike was gorgeous. Get a good view of Spokane at one point. What I didnt like was how much trash was all over the place. From broken glass, beer cans, couch cushion. In certain spots it was bad. You can bring dogs here on leash. Parking is a dirt parking lot. I probably wont do this one again.

🚨BROKEN GLASS 🚨 There was broken glass everywhere. Especially near the Camp Caro area. One trail had so much glass that we had to turn around after just a short walk because it was so UNSAFE for our dog. The other trail also had BROKEN GLASS but primarily only towards the front. The other problem is many of the trails were broken. There is no upkeep of the area and most trails were cut from fallen trees and rockslide areas. I will try a couple extra trails and review again but as of right now. Not safe and Not well kept.

Dishman Hills Natural Area/ Dishman Mica Park (Spokane Valley) Free parking in the main lot, or drive directly in front of the park and park there for free. Lots of trails on the hill…the park is basic. Outlined for 3 to 12, but my five-year-old was over it pretty quickly. Park has benches nearby, a water fountain and shade. Pet friendly area. Good area for low stimulation. Open field, good area for bubbles or to bring chalk. great for picnics! We came across bunnies and birds. No swings, well maintained.

This area is always so clean and beautiful every time I visit. The playground is surrounded by a vast grass great for letting kids run wild. Dogs are required to be leashed. There a several trail options of varying distances. Also wooden "stairs" (for lack of better term) in areas where assistance may be needed to get up/downhill. The parking area is a barrage of potholes but if you drive slow it's no big deal regardless of what you drive. Some trails are currently closed due to some forest fire prevention logging going on.

Great trails. Dog friendly. Go high enough can see some good views of the valley. Can spend all day hiking around.
