Duranceau Park is surprisingly not crowded. I don't know if it's not known to many people or if Griggs Reservoir Park is just easier to access. Duranceau Park has playground equipment, shelter house, a few trails but the one way road can be considered a paved walking path. There are plenty of picnic tables and adequate parking. The views of the river are beautiful and the park is full of open spaces, wooded areas and rolling hills.
Duranceau is a smaller riparian-park, very quiet, very peaceful and serene. This has become a favorite picnic-spot for my family, nothing fancy, more old-timey than modern, a slice from the calmer-past, everything a relaxing-park should be.
A beautiful garden containing green areas + children’s toys + shelter + bathrooms are closed, unfortunately.
this is a nice open park with a small playground for kids. it also has a covered pavilion that’s clean with trash cans and a recycling can. pretty off the beaten path, so typically very quiet here. i also like that you can take a short walk and see the water if you head towards the boathouse. lots of green space for dogs to run too!
This is a very nice park, but every time I've been here people have let their dogs run around unleashed. The last time I was here a dog ran up to my leashed dogs with the owner all the way across the park. Won't be coming here any more.
