This trail takes you along the bay in the eastern part of town. You can either walk, run, or bicycle. There is a gravel path for running. Many people walk their dogs and tourist from the cruise ships stroll here

While visiting Portland with my dog, I was searching for an easily accessible, fun place to walk my dog in the city. This was just the place! It’s a nice path along the marina, railway, and coastline. There’s tons of dogs, runners, bikers,… and everyone is very nice! There’s a couple of off leash sections, the best one being a little beach perfect for throwing the ball. The whole walk took me about an hour. Highly recommend this as a dog owner!

Beautiful, easy walk/(run/bike) along the harbor coast. Dogs on leash areas too! Views of forts and historical artifacts plus history about the city was very interesting. Plus we saw a groundhog! Highly recommend.

I have traveled this trail both by foot 👣 and by train 🚂. Next to the Marginal Way trail in Ogunquit Maine, this is one of the best waterfront trails I have walked on! Google Maps actually takes you to the Marina entrance. The downtown entrance is further down. Besides the incredible view of Casco Bay, you have access to and encounter so much. Parks, memorials, a beach 🏖️, a passing train 🚂, different types of birds and flora. The path also accommodates 🚲 bikes and dogs 🐕. It was over an hour round trip. There are maps along the way. All of the trail is paved and wheelchair ♿ accessible. There are benches along the way so you can stop and rest. The only insects I encountered were 🐝 bees and dragonflies. I really recommend this trail!
