Encinitas Dog Park

Excellent fully fenced, well- maintained dog park. Main larger area plus two smaller fenced separate areas (for smaller , timid, delicate etc dogs) Parking is easy in an adjacent lot. Clean public bathroom between main gate and wonderful playground that’s nearby. Watering station for dogs and two double gated entrance/exits for extra safety. Dogs do need supervision as occasionally there are less well supervised, aggressive dogs in larger area and intervention is required Dog park closes twice a year (May & October) for renovating grass and every Thursday from 1-3pm for maintenance.

Nice park but it is NEVER open. Closes at random days of the week for "maintenance", and it is closed right now i think from October 6th- November 3rd for "Fall Maintenance". Even on the days it is open, they close and lock the gates at sun down? So if you work regular business hours good luck trying to make it here when Daylight Savings is over. The dog parks in San Diego city don't close at sundown nor are closed down so many days.

Love this place the park is huge with the dog park at one end. The dog park is self is quite large and there’s a separate area for first-time visitors or a few dogs is a little bit aggressive or not spayed or neutered. We have been coming to this park since it opened. I have three dogs two of which are huskies and they love this dog park. They make a lot of friends every time we visit which is once to twice a week. We used to live in Encinitas but have visited this park from other areas We moved to. Reasons why I personally love the park is it’s completely fenced in I don’t have to worry about my dogs getting out. Most people who visit are aware of how dog parks work & are very responsible with the opening and closing of the entrance gates. This park is huge, mostly clean… Clearly very well-maintained… Very beautiful landscaping… And in recent years they’ve added umbrellas to the benches and I think everyone’s favorite feature is the fountain that provides freshwater to our thirsty dogs. *****Note that this park is CLOSED IN MAY AND OCTOBER every year for maintenance. It’s also closed Thursday afternoons for weekly Maintenance. *****

Encinitas residents and tourists love the Encinitas Community Park’s large dog park. It does close every October and May all month for maintenance. There is a small drop section a meet and greet section that beginner visitors can slowly introduce their dogs within. It is usually empty. There is a large grassy play area and a few benches along the sidewalk. Water fountains are very popular. We walk the entire park and then stop in to socialize in the dog park.
