Love this place. Something for everyone. Easy strolls or moderate hills. Paved or trails. Bike or walk. Been visiting weekly for 5 years, and it’s fun to see this place evolve. Sometimes you may see deer, owls and the occasional snake.

Great park with lots to offer. Miles of hiking, horseback, and mountain bike trails that often intertwine, giving you the option to make your hike as long or short as you want. I strongly recommend grabbing a map from the visitor center as trail signage could be better. Plenty of well placed benches along the path to take breaks. Clear pathway markers when crossing over the paved road was much appreciated. Only two dedicated picnic areas, one on the lower poe run path and another near the lake. There are lots of cool extras at this park that make it convenient. There's a bike repair and cleaning station, a dog wash station, a wildlife viewing platform, outdoor fitness stations, and a historical bunker display to learn more about the area. The dog park is large and very well maintained. Small and large dogs are not separated, it's one big area for all sizes. The horse trails have trail posts at 1/2 mile increments, only two water troughs on the trail, one right at the entrance and the other near the 7 mile mark. There's a disc golf course located here as well, I haven't been personally but the map states it's 18 holes. I would expect it's also well maintained based on the rest of the park.

Really pretty place to hike or bike. The parking is plentiful and there are many trails. It's not crowded. There is also a visitor center with clean restrooms, maps, and a water refill station. The map makes finding trails according to skill level very easy. We also stumbled across a work out / fitness station.

Halloween decorations are up this time of year, along the main running trail and into the bunker there. On the higher trail, there was an even spookier sight to behold. Two massive writing spiders! Couldn't get a good enough photo, but just one of the many wildlife you can see here.
