Evans Creek Preserve

This is a great place for a couple of miles walk in a not very steep woods. There are families with children, but it was not crowded by any means. Somebody, probably volunteers, are doing a great job of keeping this area up. Only downside was the bathrooms were locked.

A really lovely place to walk. A lot of open space and trails. My pup loved it. It was not auper busy. There are very open areas exposed to sun, and ghere are also wooded areas with a nice retreat from the sun.

Lots of natural trees all over. It has a lot of loop trails that are easy to follow, with maps all over for guidance. It's a really big open outdoor space. Some areas are under restoration; you will see signs of it. I liked it overall, being my first time here. The only problem is that it has limited parking.

I had a lovely hike with a friend wondering the property. We enjoyed the openness of the forested area and saw a peekaboo view of the Cascades in the distance. The trail was a little muddy and slippery on a few small sections of the upper trail but manageable with walking shoes. We were disappointed that the bathrooms were locked. The mapping was helpful but it appears that they need to update the map at the 224th parking lot as it had some current trails marked as future trails. We spent about an hour wandering the trails and then sat in the sun to talk at the only picnic table near the parking lot. We did not hike up to the Sahalee Way parking lot, but the trail appeared to be open.

If you want more of a workout, park at the upper parking lot, from the lower parking lot you get to a nice bridge and open fields after a few minutes of walking. From there you get a little bit of everything, forest, boardwalks, little bridges with creeks and in spring, fields with wildflowers. It's nice even on a cold foggy morning.
