Festival park is a must if you live in Elgin. It’s definitely fun and safe for kids to play. It has a splash pad and a playground that seems safer than other playgrounds I’ve been to. It has a picnic area, public restrooms and lots of benches around the park for people to sit while watching their kids play. And last but not least, there’s places where you can eat within a walking distance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing Spot for a Fun, Free Day of Play! Festival Park in Elgin is such a gem! The splash pad water turned on a little after 10 a.m., and we ended up staying for hours. The bathrooms are real (not portables!), clean, and have plenty of space for changing—which is a huge bonus when you're with kids. We had a group of kids ranging from 2 to 8 years old, and every single one of them had a blast. From climbing the rope structures and playing on the seesaws to running through the water features, walking along the river, spotting ducks and geese, climbing on the giant stone spheres, and just running free in the open field—there was never a dull moment. Plus, it’s right downtown, so grabbing lunch or a treat afterward is super convenient. Highly recommend for families looking for an easy, free, and fun day out!

I went with my classic car club to attend the 3rd edition of the Downtown Elgin Car Show. The park is beautiful along the shores of the Fox River and next to the Elgin River Casino. There is a board walk and a bicycle path.

Very nice park for kids. The equipment is well taken care of and really like the padded floor of the playground area. It’s a very nice touch with the musical stomp pads. The location is nice, right by the river and the very large grassy area. There is parking along the street that seemed to be good for a fall day. Restrooms were open and available - all in working order.
