Forest Park is hands down one of the best spots in St. Louis!
It’s huge, beautiful, and has something for everyone , walking trails, lakes, museums, golf, and so many peaceful spots to just relax. You can spend hours here and still find something new every time.
Whether you’re biking, picnicking, or just catching a sunset by the water, the views are always stunning. Plus, it’s super clean and well-kept. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in STL, it’s the heart of the city for a reason!

Very crowded on a sunny, winter Friday at 10am. We arrived in an RV and had a difficult time navigating with cars parked along the road on both sides and oncoming traffic. Thankfully the other drivers seemed very patient. We parked near the golf course and had plenty of room. Very long walk to the zoo and playgrounds. The roads don't have sidewalks there so we took the bike path and it wasn't a direct route. We made it to the zoo an hour before close. Not enough time. The zoo is amazing and we'd love to see more of it. Even though most animals weren't out, the silk sculptures and flowers were lovely and made for an interesting stroll.

Wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. Foliage shows what autumn is as it transition to winter.
Sounds of birds heralding the passing of summer, wind slowly whistling through the trees helping it to shed and prepare for its winter’s coat. If your eyes are sharp enough, you may even catch sight of squirrels hurriedly collecting the last harvest before winter’s breathe arrive.

Great paths for walking a truly lovely park. The damage from the recent tornado was evident, but not catastrophic. The park and the vast majority of its trees persist. Lovely fall colors this time of year.

Absolutely stunning and one of America’s best city parks!
I had a fantastic time exploring Forest Park in St. Louis. This place is not just a park — it’s a vibrant destination with something for everyone. The lush green space is perfect for walking, biking, picnics, and just soaking up nature without ever leaving the city. There’s an incredible variety of things to see and do, from world-class museums and the free zoo to scenic lakes and iconic views from Art Hill. Many of the best attractions — like the zoo and major museums — are free, making it a huge value for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike. The trails and open spaces are peaceful, well-maintained, and beautifully landscaped, which makes it easy to spend an entire day just exploring. Parking can get busy on weekends or during special events, but that’s a small trade-off for such a gorgeous, lively park with rich history and endless activities. A must-visit if you’re in St. Louis
