Of all the base dog parks we’ve visited, this one stands out as the most well maintained. The park is divided into separate areas for large and small dogs, with a shaded picnic area nestled between the two. It’s the only base park we’ve seen that actually provides waste bags for owners to clean up after their dogs. On top of that, it’s probably the prettiest patch of grass for miles, and there’s even a working water spout out front where you can fill a dog bowl.

Well manicured grass. Small dog area has a tree for shade. Large dog area has no shade. Middle area between the two has a bench with shade. There is a water pump installed, but unless you have a bowl then water just goes on the ground. The parking lot is oddly adjacent to the park with no pathway to the gates, so either you have to brave the unlandscaped area with your dogs possibly getting stuck by thorns, or walk across the rocks that are part of the deliberate landscaping on the other side, or walk down the actual street to avoid these. Not sure why there isn't a sidewalk, but I assume rocks were less expensive. However dogs' paws don't like rocks. The park also has odd hours of closure, which are in the morning or midday, for "maintenance". I will tell you I have been to this park repeatedly and I've never seen anyone conducting maintenance when the gates are locked. I assume this has more to do with allowing the grass to rest so it doesn't get torn up, but then why not just install turf if you're going to close the park for half a day every Friday (7am-12pm) and 2 hours the other days (11am-1pm M-Th). It would be better if it were convenient, but being closed right during lunch and high volume/traffic times is not helpful.

7/3/22: HIGHLY RECOMMEND Very clean Large and Small dog parks located near Ft Huachuca Accommodation Schools. Ample waste/poop bags; waste area not overflowing with dirty bags. There is enough space and pet toys for many dogs to play. 2 water bowls available.

This small dog park is a jewel. Our pups love it. The care by the grounds team is exceptional. Love running on the grass...and so do the pups.

They do their best to keep the grass in as great of shape as possible. I like the fact that there isn't usually a lot of dogs there. There is also a place to get water for the dogs.
