So on Sunday I walked up to Franz Park. It was a little breezy.I was going to have my lunch up there. Two ladies were collecting a bee 🐝 swarm. I couldn't resist, I set my lunch down on the bench and walked back up to the ladies . They very, very busy. I ask them if they would mind if I videoed their recovery of the swarm. I inquired if they believe that the swarm might be a wild Hive or an escape hive. They suspected it was an escaped hive. One of asked me if I knew of anyone that kept bees up here. I said I don't know anybody that kept these except for a friend of the families who passed away several years ago, he had his in Afton. My friend had kept Bee's since he was a kid. He sold his honey to friends and neighbors. Years ago he offered to get me going with a Hive. I was tempted but I was way too busy at the time so I pass on that. But Mark would tell me about him recovering hives that had swarmed and how he did it so I was aware of what these ladies were doing and found it interesting so I thought I would share the event with you.

Great little jewel in the heart of Dogtown! Free place to take the kiddos to play and even a spot for grown ups to play tennis or workout! Great sledding hill during the winter too! The restrooms have been closed for decades, but there is a covered picnic area too!

This park is not what it use to be. I've been knowledgeable about this park for as far back as I could possibly remember from my really early childhood. This park's play structure use to be a literal battleship! Equipped with a cool tire swig a steering wheel and a pole to slide down. So many childhood memories there. Now the play structure is kind of lame and "children" misuse and abuse it daily. Sad to say....it's just not the same.

Nice park. The kid always wants to come here. Dog friendly. Public restrooms and thier clean!!! Only downside is that the drinking fountain doesn't work half the time, so you can't refill the kid's water bottle...

Baseball/softball/soccer on the lower level, playground and tennis up top. And recently added small hard-surface soccer (futsal for those in the know) goals and lines on the tennis court. Great neighborhood park.
