As a Cambridge dog owner, I’m not sure what I’d do without Fresh Pond. My mini schnauzer and I are here at least once a day, especially in the winter when the roads are salted. It’s become our go-to spot. We’ve met so many friendly dogs and dog owners over the years. The rangers are attentive, the grounds are consistently well maintained, and the entire loop always feels cared for. Fresh Pond is one of the best parts of living in Cambridge.

If your not from Cambridge don’t park there. You’ll get a ticket unfortunately. Other than that a nice place to walk/run.

A great, scenic place to escape the city and enjoy the views over the water. The loop around the lake is slightly less than a 5k and is mostly flat which makes it a great place to walk and run. There is a water fountain near the main building too.

Fresh Pond Reservation is a reservoir and park in Cambridge, MA. It is a great place to go for a walk, jog, walk the dog, or bird watch. It is a mostly paved trail of 2.25 miles around the reservoir. You can even let dogs swim in the Little Fresh Pond Dog Beach. A little bit of excitement was when the equivalent of the Loch Ness Monster was sighted recently, and the locals have named the elusive creature the Loch Fresh Monster or Freshie.

Nice spot to walk around, watch the leaves change color during the Fall. Quiet, not too crowded.
