Gadsden Park is a lovely park located at the end of Macdill Avenue. It is right on the edge of Macdill Air Force Base. It has great paved walking path around the lake. It also has a baseball field and a dog park. The only negative is the lack of shade when walking around the lake, it can definitely get very warm in the Florida sun. I would love to see some covered pavilions here or covered seating areas! I have seen a good amount of tortoises while walking around here.

I had the pleasure of visiting Gadsden Park for the Spooky Sprint event, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! The day was absolutely beautiful, which only added to the charm of the park. I brought my 6 children and my mother to this event! We thoroughly enjoyed the park and interacting with the other runners. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the well maintained grounds and the variety of amenities available. The squirrels were walking right beside you! The dog park was a delightful addition, complete with dog water fountains that kept our furry friends hydrated and happy. It was great to see so many families enjoying the space, picnicking at the tables and taking advantage of the lovely picnic shelters throughout the park. For those who love a bit of fishing, the pond appeared to be a serene spot, perfect for casting a line while enjoying the view. The playground is a good choice for the younger kiddos! It’s evident that Gadsden Park is designed with family fun in mind. The 5K run was organized perfectly and took place in an ideal location within the park, allowing participants to enjoy the scenery without any distractions. The start and finish lines were easily accessible, making it a stress-free experience for everyone involved. Parking was plentiful, which is always a plus, especially when bringing along a crowd. Overall, Gadsden Park has a lovely community feel, and I could envision making many family memories here. I highly recommend Gadsden Park to anyone looking for a beautiful green space in Tampa. Whether you’re planning a day out with family, a fun run, or a relaxing day at the dog park, this park has it all. We will definitely be returning!

I love this park. I love that they have a pond which does have an alligator so beware. But it's a very nice path around the pond which is always clean. This is a very clean park. They do have other sides of the park which has two dog parks. They have I believe two baseball fields. So for people who like to play baseball and things. Otherwise it's a very nice path to walk to run and to bike and bring your dog. On the path itself doesn't have a lot of shade. But off the path there are a lot of trees with a lot of shade. If you're going to bring your dog to walk on the hot pavement please bring them water. Or at least bring them to the shaded dog park. There are also exercise stations. Check your local listings at times there are events at the park. Also what I really love about this park is that they have a lot of dragonflies. And you may be wondering why that is such a huge deal. Well it's amazing because they eat all the mosquitoes. And as many times as I have been to the park I have not gotten bitten by a mosquito. I love dragonflies. Great for sunrise and sunset walking/running.

Awesome park to just take a good walk on a beautiful day. Lots of pets and their owners are always willing to share a story. There are a few baseball fields as well. My¹ son plays games here regularly. We enjoy watching the planes from the Air Force base fly by.

Nice and spacious park that’s wide open for running room. 3 divided sections in the dog park allow you to distance yourself from other groups of dogs which is helpful. Also has a scenic walking trail throughout if the dog park isn’t your thing. Grassy fields surrounding trail system and baseball fields are also available and have shade in half the areas for hot days. Covered picnic areas also provide a nice spot to eat. The major downside to this park is the people/groups who show up and do not manage theirs dogs, which often leads to fights...
