Gateway Park is a pleasant but small park located steps located steps away from the newly renovated Marriott hotel (literally steps away as the park and the Marriott share a fence). You can also follow the side walk to gain entrance onto the hotel property. The park has an interesting sculpture in the center and also includes a paved walking or jogging path. It is kept very clean especially given it's location. Although it is next to the Marriott, steps from the Kravis center, and a short walk to Cityplace, there is a small catch...the other side of the park shares a border with an on/off ramp of I-75. Driving past the park you might wonder "how do I get there?" as there seems to be zero parking spots. The 🔑 key is to use the parking lot of the Marriott. Although there are gates to enter the Marriott, the gates are located in such a way that you can enter into the Marriott parking lot from Okeechobee blvd. and before you reach the gate you will find about 25 parking spots available prior to entering the first gate; therefore you do not have to pay a parking fee to visit the park. Even if you did enter the Marriott gates you are given a parking slip that grants you 30 minutes free parking. Furthermore you can take your parking slip into the hotel if you do incur a fee for parking and have it validated at the front desk by letting them know that you had just stopped by for a visit to gateway park. Interestingly the Marriott is home to an amazing restaurant "Bistro 1001". This restaurant is available to everyone. To gain closer entrance to the restaurant you will need to go through the gate to receive your parking slip. Park wherever you want and have a great meal at "Bistro 1001" after enjoying your meal be sure to ask for a parking validation to make sure you will not pay any 💰 for eating at the resteraunt. Upon leaving the gated area first insert your parking ticket into the gate then scan the validation given to you by the restaurant or front desk person. I hope you enjoy your walk through Gateway Park as well as a visit to the delicious modestly priced "Bistro 1001". Did I miss anything please let me know or ask me any questions.

It's a yield area at 2 major streets in the city. No shade and just a walkway. I would NOT call this a park, I'd call it a grassy, walk-through.

"Park" with no shade and a view of a load busy road and freeway on-ramp...
