This is a cute, quiet little place to spend some outdoor time with your children! There's a baseball field, a small playground, and a small basketball court. Unfortunately, the parking is horrendous! The basketball court could use a face lift, and lighting in the area could be better. (Especially in the alley way/parking spaces) The playground was recently updated, but sadly there are no swings. If the landscaping was more visually appealing and inviting, then this would absolutely change the whole "vibe" of the park. Overall, I'd rate this park a 6/10 compared to some of the other parks in the area.
Absolutely a decent park, the main reason I only rate with a 3 is because there are no swings on the playground is number 1 (a park without swings is no real fun for a kid) and the field could use alot more seating for such a beautiful field. I've seen this place go from terrible to a nice place to take the kids an watch a game while they play. Good job on the redevelopment so far Altoona. Bored children cause drama so let's try to keep them entertained.
They have really improved the place since the last time I was there. They added a press box. Improved the dug outs. Also put in a grass infield. If they build up the pitcher's mound, and keep working the infield, it will be even better. I am very happy with the improvements.
Clean, well maintained ballfield. One of, if not THE best baseball facility in the region. (Would be nice if the county would assist with correcting the drainage issue out in right field, however. That would perfect this lovely park experience!)
It is a nice little park. There was a group of kids there with their moms and they left a pile of garbage even dumped it out of their van with garbage cans 10 feet away. My granddaughter went behind them and cleaned up the garbage. But if you go there are plenty of cans for trash. Just throw it away.
When Google exported structured hours, they’re surfaced here instead of being buried in the raw payload.
