A nice quiet place to walk the dog- partly wooded, partly turf kept mowed by Parks around a large sinkhole. Euonymus is taking over, but a few natives suggest former prairie here- we found a number of Midland fawnlily and Jonny jump-up blooming today, and tracks of several deer. Access from the north beside the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Its such a unique place you almost don't want to share it. This is not a park with swings, it doesn't have a slide, and it doesn't even have a lot of visitors. But its quiet, it is in a great location and offers a really lovely experience when you need to get away. Oh and did I mention GREAT WILDLIFE!!!
There was a gate and I didn't know if it was supposed to be blocking private property, but I guess it's just there so you don't drive a car into the park. Turned out to be just a very large acreage. I didn't see any buildings or gravesites or anything on it, except for one tire swing. Still it was a nice walk, although it was cold. I would like to have seen something related to George Washington Carver since he's one of my heroes.
Pretty peaceful place, in walking distance from my house so me and the girlfriend decided to walk over for a little afternoon stroll. Honestly don't know how this could be considered a park. I mean It is, but by today's standard it's not. Absolutely no place to sit, even though pictures from people show an entire bridge to a concrete patio with seating. That is non existent, (I'm sure it was someone just uploading the wrong photos) even worse, you can easily just accidentally stroll into a few back yards from this park which is dangerous in the times we live in. Honestly I wouldn't waste your time going to this "park."
Nice little walking park tucked in to a residential area. Some open grassy area and some tree covered trails. Lots of wildlife habitat.
