Great hiking spot, there's a trail just past the cemetery that is a 1 mile loop, and another trail past the outdoor Chattanooga building that is around 3 miles down and back. Trails are well maintained, no litter or fallen trees. The path near the river does flood sometimes, if there has been a lot of rain it's best to avoid it. Kayak rental is available from the outdoor Chattanooga building. I haven't rented from there myself so not sure about the pricing. It's great that it's available though. The dog park is usually pretty busy, and is well maintained. Could be a little larger with all the space they had available. Overall a great park.

I don’t own a dog. I came anyway. Observation is still a valid form of participation. The dogs were free. Their owners pretended they were in control. Both parties seemed satisfied with the lie. The trails surrounding the park offer a quiet reminder: civilization is a thin fence, and someone always leaves the gate open. Five stars. Clean enough. Lawless enough. A well-maintained zone of sanctioned chaos where everyone understands the rules, even though none of them are written down.

It was beautiful overcast and wet day, had the dog park by myself and my dog, then hiked up to the water hole. Great scenery ❣️

I brought two dogs that I unleashed on the large dog side of the dog park. The park is fenced and has water for pets. At best the park is basic or rudimentary. Grass covers 2/3 of the park but the part with water access is on the “grass is long gone area.” I don’t recommend this area for rainy days.

It's a beautiful paved pathway through the woods. There's a bathroom at one parking lot, so no need to go on trail. Great sunset view part way into the trail just past the incline!
