Super peaceful and serene. The people you came across were few but always polite. The ambiance of the creeks and the wind on the trees was unreal. It is super relaxing to just take a walk and just breathe.

In certain areas of the grindstone nature trails, the dogs can go leash-free. We love it! Dogs that get along with other dogs

This is probably my favorite place to go for a walk, or bike ride. A nice paved path that stretches for 1.78 miles, or a gravel path that connects to Capen park. There lots of places to hike and explore along the path to Capen park.

Nice spot off old 63, hooks up with the same area you can access from Capen Park. There is a big open off leash area bordered by the creek. Cool rusty metal foot bridge, silo(full of brakish death water), memorial bench, and bluffs.

I visited specifically to hike the AllTrails "Grindstone Nature Area Trail" and found it to be a pleasant relief from the heat even though it was a very hot and humid day. It's a fairly easy trail with the section through the woods being buggy, though, while the less buggy, wide gravel section was more direct sun. Overall I can see the appeal of the nature area and would probably return to explore more if I lived close by. There are bathrooms available in the parking lot.
