I’ve been bringing my dog to the Margaret T. Hance Small Dog Park for over six years, and unfortunately the condition of the park has declined significantly in recent years. When rules are posted but never reinforced, they stop functioning as rules and become little more than suggestions. This park has the potential to be a great community space, but without basic courtesy from visitors and some level of municipal attention, it is becoming increasingly difficult for responsible dog owners to enjoy it. Without better compliance and occasional oversight, the posted rules begin to feel more performative than functional.
