Nice new firetruck theme playground, very clean, had swings. One shaded sitting area. No public restroom.
My absolute favorite park in Carrollton. Kids left painted rocks around the park, which is fantastic. Approx 1/4 mile walk around the park. Love the trees. Well kept. Please clean up after your pets. Be safe and practice social distancing!
Absolutely adore Bessire Park! This new park was approved back in February 2020 for renovations, including a synthetic turf surface as well as new playground equipment with a firefighter theme, honoring Carrollton’s first responders and the namesake of the park, former Carrollton Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Harold K. Bessire. I love everything about the renovations. The park was unveiled back in late 2020 and ever since we’ve been regular. There’s so many cute play structures under the fire department theme that are both fun and education for the kids. The park is in the middle of a neighborhood but there’s always plenty of parking available around the side walk. We also love that there’s a wooded area and trees directly behind the park. We always end our park visit with a lovely walk through the trees and the walking path around the park. So happy Carrollton invested in the renovations and created another great park for all ages!
Great little park. Found this park because of Covid. We eat here when we get food in the nearby Korean district. Nice walking path and picnic tables. Excellent place to stop and eat and hang out for a bit. Even with restrictions lifted, we still get food and bring it here to eat. Plus you can walk off a big meal and then go back for dessert!
This is a nice small neighborhood park with a short paved walking trail. There is a playground area that has a firefighting theme. It honors Carrollton’s first responders and is named after former Carrollton Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Harold K. Bessire. There is a small wooded area that is filled with migratory birds (June) and their calls fill the air with sound. This creates a wonderful opportunity for nature photographers. Just beware of birds flying directly above you. :)
