I was genuinely excited to stop by Henry’s Drive-In in Berwyn because of its history and reputation, but unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. The food was basic and bland nothing to write home about. I ordered a banana split, and to my surprise, it was all vanilla no chocolate, no strawberry just plain, boring vanilla. Worse yet, the poor young guy making it clearly didn’t know how to make a proper banana split and looked completely confused.
Another employee, who seemed older, acted like he didn’t want to be there at all. He gave off the vibe that he wanted the place empty and everyone gone. The attitude was off-putting and made the experience feel even more uncomfortable.
Honestly, the only thing that was tolerable was the drink. Everything else from the food to the ice cream was just bad. This place may have a legacy, but the people working there and the quality of the food don’t live up to it anymore. If you’re coming here for ice cream, just know all you’re getting is vanilla. That’s it. Not worth the trip.

Nice retro atmosphere, got the polish, thought it was going to be like a Maxwell street polish but it was more like a jumbo hot dog. Maybe because they do not have a grill. Not sure how the hot dogs are, they apparently were good in the 50’s and 60’s. It’s a one time place for me. Little pricey for a hot and for a polish.

TOTALLY MY KIND OF PLACE!!!!!
This is a classic place that you should definitely check out. It is located right off the side of old Route 66. A great American restaurant on a great American road.
This is a no nonsense place. The food is great, the service is excellent and fast, and they have plenty of parking and seating if you want to eat inside or in your car. I would recommend paying in cash.
The menu is great and varied, but really the best item here is the Chicago dog. You get two of them with fries. The portion is great and will keep you fueled all day. They also serve RC which is a great old classic to serve at a throwback establishment like this.
Seriously, one of the best spots in Chicagoland for a hotdog. I can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10! Great job guys!!!

It sure isn't the same place it used to be. Trisha does not work here anymore, and neither does Katarina. And to make matters worse, the entire staff has completely turned over to where nobody who even knows who Tricia or Katerina are works here anymore. The atmosphere here has really collapsed since around 2015, and I'm sure even the regulars population has also completely turned over, if there are even any regulars here anymore. Only plus pretty much is the food here is still fairly good.
There is a default ice barrier between all strangers. And in Illinois especially, that default ice barrier is like steel, even a jackhammer couldn't ever breach it. And Henry's today has become nothing but strangers and impenetrable default ice.

Nice place on Cicero IL where to have a hot dog and chips.
Both of them are really good and tasty.
For those who depart from Chicago is a worthy place where to stop.
Great pictures of the first store (during 50s).
They also sell their own t shirts.
