A fantastic park! Multiple trails slow you to visit natural and historic features. The playground provides another option for kids to play. The nature center has a window on wildlife, an extensive library, and indoor play are, in addition to hosting educational programs. There are designated trails and areas for bringing along your dog. Some of the trails are more flat and very easy, some have steps and go into the ravines.

Scenic and enjoyable hike throughout the park. Great Native American historic sections. Great riverside views and an amazing overlook. Pool family cemetery is peaceful with the amazing centuries old trees nearby. Awesome arched wood bridge.

I've been here many times because it's close to my home. This park is not at all peaceful. If you're looking for a relaxing time in nature, you will be disappointed. You can hear the road clearly wherever you are on the trails. It's typically crowded, regardless of weather. I usually hear people talking loudly on their phones on the trails or playing music without headphones. You can hear it all the way down the trail 1/4 mile away. People often walk in groups of 3 or 4 side to side without moving over for others passing by. So many rude visitors. I wish they would put signs up reminding people to be respectful. A few times employee carts have come barreling by on the trails without making room for walkers. If people would be respectful, it'd be a nice park, but they're not. 2 stars because it's large and the restrooms are kept clean.

Highbanks is one of the busier metro parks, so obviously most people like it already…but I want to give a special shoutout to the Christmas lights they did this year. It’s great to give people a reason to go in the evening in the winter, and lovely that it’s free. It’s not a huge display, but it exceeded our expectations.
