Our German/Australian Shepherd, Luna adores this dog park. We would normally go to Beal Dog Park which isn’t very far but with all the rain Midland has been getting, it’s constantly flooded. Though Hogan Dog Park has quite a few more holes than Beal and the cleanliness doesn’t compare, I still enjoy taking her here to get her energy out! Be wary of other dog owners, though. Honestly, you would think people can’t read. If you see an aggressive dog, you might as well either leave or go into another fenced area because often times, I’ve witnessed these specific owners keep their aggressive dogs at the park as they drive other people away. I tend to use the smaller gated area when the other gated area is a bit too muddy. The limit is 30 pounds but my fur baby is only 10 pounds over.

Nice big place that's divided into sections for small and big dogs. Plenty of room to play. However there is a lot of stickers in the small play area. Not sure about the other dog areas.

Update May 2024: It hasn't been very busy since covid. Even on weekends it can still be pretty quiet. Haven't seen any problem animals in a while. Still giving 4 stars because of all the sticker weeds that get into my dog's paws. Also the water fountain is hit and miss, water gets turned off regularly so I always carry a bottle just in case. Original review: This is the biggest dog park in the area. There are 3 different sections. A very large area for large and sometimes small dogs. A large area for small dogs. And a small area that people use for puppies too small to play with other bigger dogs. I've also seen people use it for dogs who haven't been socialized or who are in training. There's something for everyone here. There are also training tools in the large area. Four stars because it can get a little rowdy on the weekends when it's busy and people who neglect and haven't trained or care about how their dog treats others. Mornings are a good time and plenty of friendly dogs to play with.

Positives: Fun agility obstacles and lots of space to run. Separate areas fenced off. Water stations. Seating for humans. Stocked doggie bags. Cons: the goats head sticker burs are unavoidable.

My dogs love running around here. It's a pretty good place for them.
