I went here in winter and even with it being covered in snow, it was beautiful. So many treets and ponds, with lots of paths to take. Places along the trails, there are also benches if you need to stop and take a break. I can imagine, in other seasons, that Holland ponds is full of beauty and wildlife too. I recommend checking it out if you would like to go on a little adventure and have a nice walk. I will be back!
We really enjoyed seeing the eagles and blue herons today. We also walked trails for more than 1.7 miles through woods, seeing ponds and even beaver tree cutting sign. Never expected this much "nature" off of Ryan road in Shelby. We will definitely plan to go back and walk more of these trails see more of these huge birds!
Good park to observe Birds, Turtles and frogs .. you would need some bug repellent as it's also home for multiple species of bugs
This was my first time walking the trails here, and it won’t be my last. It was a very peaceful and nice walk. Seeing the herons nesting was pretty cool. It’s all dirt and grass, so not recommended for biking or wheelchairs, but for a nice walk and seeing wildlife, I highly recommend it.
One of my favorite places to walk my dog. Here are a few photos I've taken in past years at Holland Ponds area. There is a heron rookery. In late Summer egrets come in the evening to sleep. Update March 2024 The nest with the adult Heron and juveniles in this video has since been blown down last year.
