It was better than I expected. Make sure you have your sandals. It can get spiky and check your dog’s feet after walking we found some spiky little balls in between his toes. Overall great dog beach.

Honeymoon Island is the best place to go when traveling with your four legged friends in Dunedin, Florida. The people and other dogs are so friendly!!! There is plenty of space to spread out, and the waves are easy enough for our girl to run and play in the water. She loves it!! As you leave the beach area there is a place to rinse your dog off so salt and sand don't become irritating to them. The beach area is riddled with families who have brought picnic lunches. Others are sunbathing by themselves or as couples. It is such a family friendly beach. There is a cost of $8.00 to get into the beach area, but it is well worth it. If you aren't there with a pet, there is a section where pets are prohibited. There are hiking, walking, bicycling trails, too. These are blacktopped so it's easy riding/walking. Restrooms are port-a-johns, but they were clean. Wash stations were available outside. When we go to St. Pete or other parts of the bay area with our girl, we make a day at Honeymoon Island.

Love honeymoon state park- and finally ventured over to the dog area with my lab. It’s definitely rocky in most spots but the perfect spot to walk with your pal and still soak up that salty air and sunshine AND not miss the beautiful sunsets.

This is always one of my favorite places to visit when I go to see Tampa family. It has clean beaches, lots of shells to find, and is not crowded if you take the first ferry to the Island.

Beach is full of seaweed and plants. Totally unusable compared to the “human” aka no dog side. If you want to charge and then section the beach do better. Why is the other side cleaned when this hasn’t? It’s so blatantly obvious that’s the case. The seaweed starts at the dog side 🤨😔 Also please be careful, beach is full of jaggy thorns. It hurts so bad and they will get stuck on pet fur.
