We picked up this happy little boy at the Sheboygan Humane Society. The folks there are friendly, professional, and got the ball rolling quickly when they found out we were from out of town. Thank you so much! I am happy to say this little boy is growing like a weed.

What a wonderful experience! Everyone is so nice and helpful. Adopting Kirby the chinchilla was such a smooth process. Thank you for allowing us to bring her home the same day. Would recommend highly to adopt from. Kirby is loved and spoiled :)

I adopted my cat through here almost 5 years ago, (Inky says hi!!) Then and now, it's a wonderful place! You can tell they're committed to making sure the animals are well cared for and end up in loving homes. This would be a wonderful place to start if you're looking for a new furry friend!

Love this location. Somewhat overwhelming to the nostril at times. Be careful tho. You might leave, wanting to adopt every single animal there.

My partner and I found a stray cat near Plymouth while visiting the area last week. It was cold outside and she looked very thin so we brought her back to our place for the night to give her food and water and look after her until we could bring her to the humane society. I brought her the next day (we live about 55 miles away) and dropped her off, where I was told she’d be placed on a 5 day stray hold following a medical exam (showing signs of URI). I asked if they allowed us to pay an adoption hold fee like some other shelters do, wherein if she is not reunited with her owners, we would have the first chance at adopting her. I was told no, that was not a policy they had in place. I was confused but accepted it, and that night her stray hold post was already active. We returned to the shelter as soon as we could once we saw she had been listed for adoption. My partner arrived at the shelter minutes after opening, only to be denied a visit with the cat WE brought in, as someone else had already met with her in that brief window and placed an adoption hold. Within a few hours, she was officially adopted, and we weren’t even allowed to see her one last time. We had grown very attached to this cat in the short time we had her, and we are both very upset and frustrated that there is NOTHING in place to allow people who bring in stray animals to get any kind of first chance at adoption. Our adoption application was approved and we would have paid to take her home the same day in a heartbeat. I am extremely disappointed with the Humane Society of Sheboygan County. All our plans and hopes for our new pet cat were dashed and the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Please be aware, if you find a stray cat in Sheboygan County and want to take the proper steps to try to get them reunited with their owner or to adopt them yourself, don’t get your hopes up, because they will do absolutely nothing to make sure you even get a chance to visit the animal you’ve quickly grown to love.
