Love going here. I've hiked this exact location twice. Once around the lake and on Turkey day we hit the pavement and got 8.5 miles in. We arrived around 7:45 am. By the time we were finished, the lot was full

Inspiration point at tilden is one of the best places at the park for all ages for hiking, biking or just strolling. There is even a paved trail which facilities to stroll around to those who enjoy Nature but uneven paths make it difficult.

What an incredible place! If you're looking to hike on an open, paved trail with a gentle gradient, this is the perfect spot for you. The breathtaking views at every turn are unparalleled; you can see the San Pablo Reservoir and the waterways leading in and out of it. I could also see the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge in all their majestic splendor. The walkway features many benches for resting, and there are picnic areas nearby where you can grill your food. Dogs are allowed on leashes, and all the owners we encountered were friendly, with their dogs on their best behavior. There were also many cyclists along the road, and also along the trail.

I have been staying in Oakland for a few days and so badly wanted to get back up in the hills. So I took the harrowing drive all the way uo the hills to Inspiration Point. And well....one place that truly lives up to its name. What an amazing trail to take in the evening at sunset. And dare I say.....any other time. Gorgeous views. Wonderfully paved trails for accessibility. Note to the wise: If you are going to walk in the tall grass, there -are- ticks. I have been on many walks and hikes that say there are ticks....and there aren't many. This. Trail. Has. Ticks. In the long grass. I had two for a short 5 minute off the pavement walk.

This is a accessible hike, such that you can walk on a paved path (with breathtaking views and benches to rest or contemplate) and venture off to connecting trails. Be careful of cyclists. The paved trail is multiuse. Try to get to the 'top' of the Rotary Peace Grove 'Lookout' it has 350°views!!!! Worth the walk!
