Nice pathways to walk on with a few benches along the paths. The ponds were dry this time, but I can see where if it is rainy season the area could easily flood. It's a relax walk through the tall cypress trees.
Great walking trails for you and your dog. Very peaceful. The trails are made from sea shells. No bear feet.
Beautiful park for a morning run! Went in January and had no problem at all with water/flooding on trails as mentioned in other reviews; maybe depends on the time of year. I was wearing trail running sneakers so the shell trail was fine, and quite pretty. Very quiet compared to other parks in the area which was nice.
Not sure who the city used for engineering/hydrologist, but this parks trails flood with an inch of rain. It's obvious that the trail itself needs to be raised in several spots, proper drainage swales/ditches created, but less obvious and much needed are more access points to this park. The main parking is on the east side off Agualinda and the only other access is by foot only (no vehicle parking) on the NW corner of the park off Oasis. Other issues that need addressing include: drinking fountains at restrooms that don't work, limited park benches scattered randomly around the walking path (more needed), a bandshell that probably doesn't get much use but looks nice near the main parking area. There are two covered picnic tables along the outer loop, but no grills. The inner loop has an above ground composite decking walkway in the area of the park that's supposed to be the flooded area, it would've been nice had the planners continued the composite deck all the way across the opening and connected it to the other side of the inner path. This middle area is supposed to be the flooded area of the park, but at this point the only areas subject to flooding are the main walking paths. Update 9/11/24: This park is 100% under water and we haven't had rain in nearly 3 days. Water on walking paths ranges from 3-10", I tried calling the city to see what their plan was to remedy this issue, waiting on a response from the Parks Dept. Update 9/24/24- No response from city after calling 311 and writing email. Update: I'm raising my review to 2 Stars since they've added dinosaurs to the park. Everyone loves dinosaurs 😁
Cute little walking park. Only made it partially in because of flooded trails.
